Reimagining how we interact with our natural environment; how best can we live alongside nature? What have we learnt from the past? At this construction workshop, we’ll using recycled cardboard. We will create models and paintings of nature spaces and look at creative ways we can encourage biodiversity within.

Join us at Mermaid Arts Centre, Bray celebrate Samhain and create your own Trick or Treat Tote! You will design your bag and then bring it to life using paint and paint markers, creating your very own Spooky Tote. Suitable for 4-12 years, there are two 1 hour long workshops for children aged 4-12 years, 11am - 12pm and 12:30pm - 1:30pm.

Children will have the opportunity to explore the possibilities of drawing as we learn about the mountains that form the backdrop of our studio and fascinating folklore surrounding them, as well as the farm itself. Children will be led by demonstration and will have lots of fun in the making.

Weather permitting, we’ll venture into Collis Sandes Woods to collect found items from nature, which we’ll bring back and use as part of our workshop. Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 at Killruddery with Me and Moon

Join Me and The Moon at The Fruit Room studio, within the walled gardens at Killruddery, for a fun day of free creativity.

Draw, blot, cut, paste and paint at Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 with Me and The Moon at Killruddery. We will look at the walled garden with our artists eye, then return to the studio and together create a mural using blot printing, collage, drawing and paint. We're very excited to have the Hot Dots joining us on the day and providing music; adding to the atmosphere with hot rags, intricate instrumental arrangements and close harmonies. Limited availability and pre-booking is required.

Join Architecture Kerry for an exhibition of child-led adventures in architecture.

LAUNCH EVENT: 4.30pm, 28th September.
Exhibition runs until 11th October. All are welcome (no booking required).

Grounded in key building principles, and using cardboard and child friendly construction methods, Construct Fun! leads the viewer into spaces full of character and colour, where young imaginations remind us that the spaces we make our own can be joyful, playful and inspiring.

Kerry Library is a supporting partner to the Architecture Kerry Festival and Kerry Local Creative Youth Partnership.
