As Killruddery’s Children’s Creative Partner, we’re pleased to invite you to this very special event. Children and adults can expect to explore Killruddery’s festive surroundings and look forward to creative workshops with the Me and The Moon team.

As part of our our Santa experience, we’ll create Christmas ornaments and tree decorations from clay and mixed media, before meeting Santa Claus himself. As well as their own clay piece, each child will go home with a little gift as a memento.

Join Me and The Moon at our brand new seasonal pop-up event at Killruddery, where we’ll throw open the doors of The Stable Studio for this very special family workshop.

Join us at the beautiful surrounds of Killruddery, Bray as we celebrate Halloween weekend. Together we’ll create our own Trick or Treat Tote! You will design your bag and then bring it to life using paint and paint markers, creating your very own Spooky Tote.

Magic descends upon the heritage Gardens of Killruddery as all kinds of mythical creatures make their way to their woodlands, lawns, trees and ponds. This day is all about the senses. Families can expect to engage with earth, fire, water and air in a safe and playful environment, complete with plenty of play, music making and storytelling. You are invited to dress as your favourite fairy tale character, classic or contemporary hero, and join Me and The Moon for a host of creative activities.

Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 at Killruddery with Me and Moon

Join Me and The Moon at The Fruit Room studio, within the walled gardens at Killruddery, for a fun day of free creativity.

Draw, blot, cut, paste and paint at Cruinniú na nÓg 2024 with Me and The Moon at Killruddery. We will look at the walled garden with our artists eye, then return to the studio and together create a mural using blot printing, collage, drawing and paint. We're very excited to have the Hot Dots joining us on the day and providing music; adding to the atmosphere with hot rags, intricate instrumental arrangements and close harmonies. Limited availability and pre-booking is required.

Newcomers and veteran Me and The Mooners are welcome. These are parent-and-child workshops, where families can have fun getting creative together before having a potter around beautiful Killruddery. Sounds like a lovely Sunday morning, yes?

This weekend we’re celebrating Spring at Killruddery and creating our very own woodland animals using clay. Family will be led by demonstration with a fully qualified art teacher.

Suitable for primary school children of all ages. Younger children are welcome to join in with the help of a parent/guardian. Parent and child workshop. Pre-booking required.

Easter at Killruddery

It's Easter weekend, which means two things; it's family time and Killruddery gardens are back open for the season! To celebrate, we've created a very special pop-up event.

To honour the Spring season, we will be creating flowers, animals, trees, plants, wildlife and even fairies. Together, we will collaborate on a large mural which reflects the different areas of Killruddery's walled garden, namely;

  • 'The Wilderness' woods

  • The farm

  • The 17th century formal gardens

Suitable for children aged 5–12 years, however younger children are welcome to participate with the help of an adult. Pre-booking essential.

The workshops will take place throughout the day at the Fruit Room Studio (see map for directions). 1-hour workshop times are:

  • 10–11am

  • 11.30am–12.30pm

  • 1.30–2.30pm

  • 3–4pm

Ticket price: €15 per child*

*Your ticket includes access to Killruddery Gardens for one child (attending the workshop) and one accompanying adult. Eventbrite may add an additional service fee.

Children will create their very own Bray Christmas scene using pictures of local landmarks. There will be plenty of cutting, pasting. We'll also use watercolour paints to add colour, maybe some christmas (eco-friendly) glitter too. We'll bring everything you need – you just bring your imagination!

Suitable for 5–12 year olds

Me and The Moon are excited to join Killruddery to celebrate Cruinniú na nÓg 2022. 

Children will create art in response to the acrobatics and circus feats around Killruddery’s 17th century gardens. Your arms and legs will be an extension of your drawing tools.  The floor will be our canvas. Make your own drawing tools using objects foraged from the wilderness woods.  Your finished drawings and paintings will form part of a large mural collage that will grow over the two-day celebration of Cruinniú na nÓg.

About

The theme of Cruinniú na nÓg at Killruddery is ‘I see you’ and ‘Play’. We propose scheduled workshops over the two days, ending with a mural collage of the work to be displayed at the front on the house, beside The Orangery.  Children will make expressive drawings and paintings responding to Ariel and Circus workshops taking place around them.
